Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom presents this movie preview

THE ZONE OF INTEREST illuminates the horrors of the Holocaust from the perspective of Ausschwitz commandant Rudolf Höß (Christian Friedel) and his wife Hedwig (Sandra Hüller), who live with their family in their picture-book home wall to wall with the extermination camp. In their magnificent house surrounded by gardens, they enjoy the prospect of a bright future based on the wealth stolen from the victims of the Holocaust, while millions of Jews from all over Europe die right on their doorstep. Director and screenwriter Glazer drew inspiration for THE ZONE OF INTEREST from the book of the same name by the recently deceased author Martin Amis. After several years of research and intensive collaboration with the Auschwitz Museum, Glazer places the real historical figures at the center of the story. The film features a top-class cast including Sandra Hüller and Christian Friedel and was awarded the Grand Jury Prize and the FIPRESCI Prize at this year's Cannes Film Festival.
"Hannah Arendt's idea of the "banality of evil" has found cinematic expression here," wrote DIE WELT aptly.

The film will be released in cinemas on February 29, distributed by Leonine. We will be able to show the film before the official theatrical release.
