Evening hike to the Granitz hunting lodge, including a tour of the lodge and a climb up the tower; please bring torches for the way back; minimum age: 7 years; duration: approx. 4 hours
Information about the hike
After an evening hike through the beech forest and many stories about the Granitz, guests are welcomed at the Granitz hunting lodge. During an exclusive tour of the castle, they will learn many exciting stories about the magnificent "luxury building" of the Putbus princes, which is enthroned as a popular excursion destination on the 107-metre-high Tempelberg in the middle of the Granitz. The builder Wilhelm Malte I zu Putbus wanted to erect a prestigious hunting lodge in one of his most beautiful hunting grounds and created a famous landmark on the Island of Rügen with the central tower, which can be seen from afar. On the way to the tower, guests hear stories of changes in plans, hot knights, the princely hunt, fantastic culinary delights and the personal fates of the owners. Finally, the viewing platform offers a fantastic panorama of Island of Rügen: sunset and moonlight, lighthouse fires and the lights of the villages are the face of the island at night.
