For a long time, Wrodow was a secondary estate and not an independent manor. At the beginning of the 16th century, it can be assigned to the von Maltzahn family. Until the end of the Second World War, the castle was inhabited by the widow of the last heir.
In 1993, juvenile court judge Frank Bauer and religion teacher Brigitte Gross discovered the ruined Wrodow Castle. Together with the artist Sylvester Antony, they bought the castle and park and spent ten years renovating the building. The Wrodow Castle Art Association has made this charming place famous beyond the region with numerous art events.
