Let the magic of this night work its magic on you!
The time of the summer solstice around June 21 is a very special one. The sun is at its highest, the nights are bright and short. Many plants, especially medicinal herbs, now have their highest content.
Midsummer, celebrated especially in the Scandinavian and Baltic regions, is a festival of light and fire. From pagan times, various customs such as midsummer night fires are known. With Christianization, the church adopted these customs, now in honor of John the Baptist, whose birthday is commemorated on June 24. On an evening tour through the Baab Heath into the hinterland, we will trace the customs associated with Midsummer and St. John's Day.
Perhaps we will find the now particularly medicinal St. John's herbs ... and also gnomes and elves are said to be increasingly on the move in these bright nights ... Let the magic of this night work on you!
