Midsummer is the celebration of the summer solstice, which takes place every year around June 21. The date marks the longest day and the shortest night of the year and is celebrated on a grand scale, especially in Sweden. This year we are also celebrating this day in Gessin. To make it sound really SWEDISH, we have invited Gernot Fisch to join us in the village. He miraculously plays the most Swedish instrument in Sweden - the nyckelharpa - a kind of cross between hurdy-gurdy and violin. The first notes ring out and we are in Sweden!
