A tasty weekend for (grand)fathers and (grand)children aged 10 and over (8.-10.11.24)
Men cook differently?! At a time of year when the year's harvest is being gathered in the fields and gardens, we invite men and their sons to spend a weekend together.
The focus is on the practical preparation of our FOOD. And realizing how many steps are involved in food preparation - even for favourite dishes! To begin with, we will learn some interesting facts about growing vegetables from a dedicated gardener. The amount of experience and work required just to grow them can be awe-inspiring. There we can harvest seasonal vegetables. Cooking is done somewhat archaically over the fire and on a wood stove. With a lot of improvisation! Is that typically male?
By working together, we prepare our own highlight: a richly laid table on Saturday evening. On Sunday, as a final meal, we bake pizza in the wood-fired oven. The program will be accompanied by Harald Jäger, an experienced adventure educator. With this weekend, we offer men and their children a time-out, a contrast to the often overcrowded and tightly scheduled everyday life. There will be opportunities for discussion and exchange among the participating fathers in the evenings and throughout the weekend. A minimum number of five (grand)fathers is required.
Overnight accommodation is provided in the Verwalterhaus / Marienhaus, an outbuilding of Dreilützow Castle. Catering is provided by Schloss Dreilützow.
