The ruins of Eldena Abbey are one of Caspar David Friedrich's most important motifs. The historical site remains fascinating to this day - Martin Kohlstedt is also inspired by the walls of the monastery ruins and Friedrich's works: The Weimar-based artist combines classical and modern music in his music by experimenting on the piano and with electronic sounds.
