Marriage and partnership - maintenance claims after separation and divorce

Spouses are entitled to maintenance support until the divorce for the spouse with the lower income. This maintenance claim or the further obligation to pay maintenance to the former spouse can also continue after the divorce as "post-marital maintenance". Similarly, the mother of joint children may be entitled to maintenance from the father of the child after the end of a partnership.
