Fish market, tow & splice in Greifswald-Wieck
The Greifswald season opener is on 22.4.2023 (from 10 am - 5 pm) under the sign of maritime traditions. Historic towing, old sailing crafts and lively fish markets - all these customs have been cultivated in the Hanseatic city for centuries and can be experienced again today. How much power does it take to pull a 270-ton tall ship from the museum harbor to Wieck? How are the sails set and where do the fishermen catch their herrings? Visitors will find answers to these questions at the beginning of spring in the small fishing village of Wieck, when sailors and fishermen ring in the season together.
