The Sonic.art Saxophone Quartet is a chamber music ensemble with an international flair. Its current members come from Belarus, Australia, Japan and Germany, have studied in Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, Lyon and Vienna and live in Berlin. Sonic.art was founded in 2005 and soon made a name for itself by winning prestigious prizes and awards at national and international competitions. For example, it was awarded 1st prize and the Grand Prix of the International Chamber Music Competition for Contemporary Music in Krakow, the prize of the German Music Competition and the Bergamo Classical Music Award. Since then, tours and master classes have taken the musicians throughout Europe and to all other continents. They have given concerts
at renowned festivals such as the Warsaw Autumn Festival, the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival, the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, the Kurt Weill Festival, the Festival de México, the Festival Symphonique Alger and the Curitiba Jazz Meeting.
The musicians have been artists in residence at the Canberra International Music Festival in Australia, the WDR3 Funkhauskonzerte in Cologne, the European Weeks in Passau, the Bochum Symphony Orchestra, the MDR Musiksommer, the Staatstheater Darmstadt and the Kammermusikgemeinde Hannover.sonic.art has performed concerts for saxophone quartet & orchestra with the Staatskapelle Weimar, the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra and the Aachen Symphony Orchestra.
