On "International Museum Day", take a tour of the construction site and find out about the latest news and plans for the modernization of the MEERESMUSEUM.
This guided tour as part of "International Museum Day" begins with a brief review of the eventful history of the town and the monastery and its inhabitants.
Afterwards, the tour participants will gain an up-to-date insight into the new exhibitions and aquariums planned for the future MEERESMUSEUM at the information point and along the construction site at St. Catherine's Monastery. The exciting views of the SEA will be "underpinned" with finds from the excavations. The route is based on the current construction progress. It is not possible to enter the monastery church.
Meeting point: Mönchstraße 45 (opposite the main entrance gate to the MEERESMUSEUM)
Minimum age: 12 years
The number of participants per tour is limited to 15 people.

Notes on the tour:
The tour mainly takes place outside or in unheated areas. There is no toilet or checkroom available. Please use the public WC at Neuer Markt. Some of the areas on the tour are rough, so we recommend closed shoes with sturdy soles (no high-heeled shoes). If a construction helmet is required, this will be provided by the MEERESMUSEUM.
