Development after the renaturation of the Immenstädt and Pinnow polders (shortly before the Zecherin bridge to the Island of Usedom)
The Immenstädt and Pinnow polders (just before the Zecherin bridge to the Island of Usedom) were renaturalized as part of the E6 project of Flächenagentur M-V GmbH, a subsidiary of the foundation.
In addition to the rewetting of formerly heavily drained moors, a number of other measures were carried out to develop the area into a small paradise for birds. For example, breeding aids were installed to make it easier for birds such as gulls and terns to breed. Exmoor ponies and highland cattle now graze in the area. They are supposed to keep the grass short so that the meadow birds also feel comfortable. It is not necessary to wear wellies, but binoculars would be helpful.
After the excursion, there will be an opportunity to enjoy a barbecue with organic sausages made by local cattle.
