Valentine's Day is the day of romance and love. Couples surprise each other and spend the day together. There is not always time for romance and love in the animal kingdom, but it does exist here too. It takes a lot of energy and creativity to win over your partner in the end. But lies and deceit, prostitution and more drastic approaches also lead to the goal in nature.
On February 14, zoo director Dr. Tim Schikora and zoo biologist Sabrina Höft will explain the love lives of animals on an amusing and adult-friendly tour. There is not always time for romance in the animal kingdom, but it does exist here too. It takes a lot of energy, perseverance and creativity to win over your partner. After a champagne reception in the entrance area, you will be introduced to the bizarre and impressive reproductive strategies in the animal kingdom in 90 minutes. From the strange behavior of tree sphinxes to the top performances of rhinoceroses - there is plenty to make you smile.
At the end of the eventful tour, you can relax in the Red List Center surrounded by Asiatic lions, red-crested turacos and Kirk's dikdiks and reflect on one or two curiosities from the animals' bedroom. Both meat and vegetable lovers will get their money's worth at the buffet. Seats are in high demand and the Valentine's Day event at the zoo is a tradition for many.
