Over a period of 25 years, Ditte Clemens interviewed over 100 women from Mecklenburg. The portraits, which were created between 1997 and 2022, document the impressive lives of women of different ages with different professions.
At the time of the interview, the women were working as a radio journalist, chronicler, writer, ceramicist, business owner, doctor, ventriloquist, puppeteer, gallery owner, cleaner, nurse, head of a pantomime group, administrative employee, judge, yoga teacher, singer, former finance minister, market woman, painter.
25 women are presented as representatives of the many portrayed.
The recorded lives make the recent history of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern more comprehensible, and they have a radiance beyond the state's borders because they give other people the courage and strength to master their present lives.
