(Attempt of visualization by means of photography by Berlin photographer Jürgen Werth)
Jürgen Werth, born in Berlin in 1949, has been working with HDR (High Dynamic Range) photography since 2006. The exhibition will be the fourth by now of the photographer in the Haus des Gastes (2015, 2016, 2019) in Baltic resort Wustrow. In contrast to previous exhibitions, this time he is not showing landscapes. Instead, Werth focuses on walls, staircases and rooms. He documents the transience of walls that are constantly changing, shows staircases that connect levels and floors as a resting point and the resulting rooms. Spaces that open and close, and interiors that come to life and breathe.
The majority of the photographs were taken on the Fischland/Darß. Particularly worthy of consideration are photographs from the still unrenovated Old Seafaring School in Baltic resort Wustrow, which have been supplemented by previously unknown photographs and now reflect the long history of a significant place in Baltic resort Wustrow. Pictures from Barth and an old paper factory will also be on display in the exhibition.
Werth seeks his motifs off the beaten track. His works, which are influenced by architectural photography, are usually characterized by a monochrome color scheme or black-and-white contrasts, so that the melancholy loneliness of the places comes across even more strongly.
The exhibition can be seen during regular opening hours.
