Far away from everything, but in the middle of fields and woods. Close to the water, far from the hustle and bustle. The most beautiful German pampas the country has to offer: Vorpommern. The realization of what we have here usually comes late. The sea, the vastness, the beech trees. All this creates moods and bliss that can hardly be captured in pictures and yet many people try their hand at it - like Caspar David Friedrich 250 years ago with his paintings and Gudrun Koch today in this exhibition. Over the past decade, the photographer has collected motifs in a wide variety of locations on Rügen and the Pomeranian mainland, capturing the often stubborn yet monumental charm of the landscape.
