The hike leads along an old orchard meadow to the now rare dry grassland sites. The second excursion destination is the Radewitz Estate Park with biologist and estate expert Dr. N. Krauß.
The dry slopes of the Radewitz Heath in the Randow Valley are characterized by a high diversity of species. Sheep and other animals have grazed on the land for centuries, which has led to the development and preservation of this exciting cultural landscape. The hike leads along an old orchard meadow to the now rare dry grassland sites. Due to the numerous insect species, the barred warbler, whinchat and red-backed shrike, among others, find enough food for their young. In sunny weather, sand lizards can be observed among the Siberian bellflower, steppe timothy and other great species of dry grassland.
The second excursion destination is the Radewitz Estate Park with biologist and estate expert Dr. N. Krauß. The old estate is closely linked to the development of the local cultural landscape. This certainly holds exciting insights not only for local residents and offers an interesting experience for all interested participants.
