Romantic and post-romantic music in the "Hungarian style"
In music, the Italian term ungherese, all'ungherese means "Hungarian" or in the style of Hungarian music. Numerous composers such as Joseph Haydn, Franz Schubert, György Ligeti and Ferenc Farkas have composed pieces with this title.
The Duo all'ungherese is a chamber music duo whose members Anita Farkas (flute) and Bence Hartl (guitar) have Hungarian roots. This means that all of the evening's compositions will be played and interpreted quasi all'ungherese.
The duo's program includes works from the Romantic and Post-Romantic periods by Franz Schubert, Gaetano Donizetti, Maurice Ravel, Gabriel Faure, Cesar Franck, Edward Elgar as well as tangos by Astor Piazzolla and Alfred Schnittke and waltzes by Emile Waldteufel and Dmitri Shostakovitch.
Anita Farkas is one of the outstanding flautists of her generation. The multi-award-winning musician plays with enormous virtuosity and tonal variety. She has been principal flute with the Neubrandenburg Army Music Corps since 2022.
Guitarist Bence Hartl is also active as a composer and arranger, and his pieces have been performed and awarded worldwide by renowned artists and ensembles. He also teaches classical guitar, chamber music and music theory.
