The history of the Bergen nunnery from its beginnings in 1193 to its transformation into a Protestant convent and its dissolution in 1945 is the subject of the permanent exhibition. At the same time, the replica of the gilded Romanesque chalice and the medieval cloth richly embroidered with linen and silk with its narrative scenes invite you to marvel and pause for a moment!
On Sunday, April 7, 2024, the second Open Monastery Day will take place in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The city museum is also participating in this program with special opening hours. On the one hand, the permanent exhibition "From the Stone Age to the City" and the special exhibition "Inca: Retrospective of Half a Century" can be visited from 11 am to 4 pm.
