Musician, actor and composer Johannes Kirchberg is working for children for the first time. But it comes as no surprise that this play is also highly musical, humorous and charming. Framed by poems set to music by children's author James Krüss, a chick asks the question of all questions in the play "Chicken or Egg": Which came first? The chicken or the egg? Egg or chicken?
He won't get an answer from the older animals on the farm because the adults are, as always, far too busy with their everyday chores. There is neither room nor time for philosophical questions. And so our chick sets off to find an answer, asking the animals who come from somewhere else. Because when you come from somewhere else, you also know other things. The chick wanders into the middle of life. But once you have learned something here, questions arise there.
