Concert: Through the ages from early music to jazz

The program spans the ages from early music to jazz and combines the most diverse musical influences of the artists to create a varied program through space and time. The program includes unusual arrangements of old chorales, original compositions influenced by collaboration with musicians from other cultures, orchestral soundscapes on the organ, tangos and rousing improvisations.

Volker Jaekel - exceptional organist, jazz pianist and musician - elicits unusual sounds and earthy rhythms from the Sagard baroque organ.

Among other things, the musicians will present their new CD "Mein Gmüth ist mir verwirret" and will also play the Chinese mouth organ Sheng and the medieval portative. The different and fascinating tones of the organ will enter into a musical dialog with the sonorous saxophone of Gert Anklam.
