"Better if the head doesn't hang"
Franziska Günther's songs drive powerfully forward with concise guitar grooves, touch directly with a warm, haunting voice and tell stories rich in imagery with a clever gift for observation and dry Nordic humor. The musician, who now lives in Berlin, was already playing in pubs and at festivals in her native Mecklenburg at the age of sixteen, traveled through Europe with her guitar after graduating from high school and lived in Denmark for some time. Since the release of her English-language solo debut in the fall of 2016, Franziska Günther has been playing her fresh German-language singer/songwriter folk throughout Germany and Northern Europe. In her current album "Besser Wenn Der Kopf Nicht Hängt", the troubadour's life-affirming energy pulsates, inspired by the wisdom of her grandmother to go through the world with confidence, love and humor even in turbulent times. "Franziska Günther sings and tells stories in a very direct, tangible, truthful and groovy way. (...) a real gem." Susanne Papawassiliu - rbbKultur The Voice
