Caspar David Friedrich in the town hall

The Sparkasse Vorpommern and the Sparkasse Vorpommern Foundation for Science, Culture, Sport and Society have purchased the Caspar David Friedrich tableau by Moritz Götze for the city of Greifswald. The large-format enamel work will be loaned to the Greifswald City Council for display in the foyer of the town hall. Moritz Götze has brought together the stages of Friedrich's life, pictorial motifs, contemporaries and joy on this picture sheet, thus offering the painter's home town the opportunity to commemorate the now world-famous son of the city in a dignified and contemporary way. This work will be unveiled in the presence of the artist.
