Call to Strelitz civil society: Take to the streets for democracy and cohesion!

With great concern for the democratic achievements, diversity and tolerance in our society, we are calling on all citizens, but also our social institutions such as companies, associations and initiatives, to join us in flying the flag on February 16:

It's time to take to the streets again! For indivisible human rights. For a diverse, free and open society. Together we will defend our democracy. The human dignity enshrined in the German constitution and protection from persecution are non-negotiable for us. We need immigration to keep our social systems stable.

It is time to make a decision: For an open society based on solidarity. Or for even more social exclusion, isolation and discrimination, for right-wing populism and authoritarian thinking and action.there are no simple solutions to the complex crises of our time. We stand uncompromisingly against agitation, exclusion, discrimination and simple answers that pit people against each other. Germany thrives on diversity, tolerance and a commitment to democratic values. We can and must continue to improve our democracy, but one thing is clear: history must not be allowed to repeat itself!

We call on people to cast their vote for tolerance and solidarity in the Bundestag elections on February 23 for a democratic party that wants to use diversity productively for our society and shape our future.

We will take to the streets together on February 16 at 3 pm on the market square in Neustrelitz: colorful, loud and numerous!
