Clemens Krauss book presentation & discussion "What is allowed?" Dealing with the collection of the Kunsthalle Rostock with Clemens Krauss (artist, Berlin), Margret Middell (artist, Barth/ MV), Dr. Jörg-Uwe Neumann (director Kunsthalle Rostock) and Antje Schunke (art historian Kunsthalle Rostock).
The renowned artist Clemens Krauss (born 1984 in Graz/AT) presents his new comprehensive book "Antidot / Gegengift", published by DCV in 2024. It will be published during his current solo exhibition "VON NUN AN | FROM NOW ON" at the Kunsthalle Rostock and includes works from recent years, including those currently on display.
Clemens Krauss worked in and with the collection of the Rostock Museum. There were repeated discussions both during the creation of the exhibition and during its duration. Is the artist allowed to present his colleagues' works in this way? The sculptor Margret Middell withdrew her work after initially agreeing, while the artist Leiko Ikemura gave her consent and expressed no reservations. Clemens Krauss' interaction evokes contradictory reactions. Together with him, Margret Middell and the Kunsthalle Rostock, the handling of artworks by artists, museums and curators will be discussed.
Clemens Krauss, "Antidot | Gegengift", 220 pages, German/English, hardcover, numerous color illustrations, current exhibition views from the Kunsthalle, with texts by Tereza de Arruda, Clemens Krauss, Antje Schunke, Anna Meinecke and Marc Wellmann, price: 40 euros
