When the two entrepreneurs Felix Schöller and Theodor Bausch came to Neu Kaliß in 1871, they already had ambitious plans. Memorial at the basin Ludwigslust

In honor of the victims of the Nazi regime, a monument made of sandstone with a surrounding relief was erected at the basin in 1951. This is located in the visual axis between the castle and the town church and was designed by the Ludwigslust graphic artist and painter Herbert Bartholomäus.

Marienstollen Malliß

Mining in Malliß has a long history. Salt was mined in the Conow salt works as early as 1304, clay mining began in the middle of the 16th century, and lignite mining was started underground in the so-called Friedrich Franz field around 1817.

Water tower Hagenow

Anyone coming to Hagenow from the direction of Schwerin will see the municipal water tower of Hagenow from afar. It supplied the inhabitants with drinking water until the 1970s, when it was decommissioned. After reconstruction in the 1990s, it is now used as a residential and commercial building.

Fritz Reuter Stone

When Fritz Reuter passed through the Kalißer Heide on August 25, 1840, the day of his release from the fortress prison in Dömitz, he passed the crossroads Neu Kaliß - Neu Göhren, which later in his memoirs "Ut mine Festungstid" was symbolically significant for his life's journey.

The largest Douglas firs in Central Europe

South of Parchim is the largest Douglas fir stand in Central Europe. This conifer, native to North America, was first planted here 100 years ago. Thanks to favorable growing conditions, the Douglas firs, with their height of 58 meters, even tower over Parchim's St. George's and St. Mary's churches.

Bridge monument Dömitz

The bridge monument in Dömitz is a memorial to the reunification of Germany. Firmly anchored on an overpowering pedestal, a segment of the old Elbe bridge near Dömitz commemorates the division of Germany into two parts that lasted more than forty years.

Bausch Park Neu Kaliß

In 1873, gardener Vieth from Wittenburg was commissioned by the owners of the fine paper mill to plan a park right next to the industrial site. Laid out in the style of an English landscape park with ponds and dendrological rarities, the park was then as it is today a place of tranquility where people can find relaxation.

Moraas chapel

As small as it is, one could almost overlook the chapel at Moraas. Its peculiarities are discovered at second glance. Actually, it consists of two buildings - the chapel room, which was actually built in the 70s, and a wooden bell tower, which was built at the beginning of the 19th century and in whose pews rings a bell from the 14th century.

Village church Alt Damerow

The small rectangular half-timbered church in the center of the village is located in the immediate vicinity of the Pingelhof Agricultural Open-Air Museum. It was probably built after the Thirty Years' War and before 1700. In the cemetery of the village church of Alt Damerow lie buried the members of the Pingel family, who once ran the Pingelhof, now a museum, as a real farm.

Technical Center Neustadt-Glewe

A technical school was opened in Neustadt-Glewe as early as 1882. The village church of Redefin was built between 1843 and 1847 as a neo-Gothic brick building with a front west facade and a central tower, and the interior is also in Gothic style. The church houses the oldest organ in Mecklenburg.

Technical Center Neustadt-Glewe

A technical school was opened in Neustadt-Glewe as early as 1882. However, the technical secondary school for the building trade and for mechanical and mill engineering was initially located at the historic castle. On November 4, 1890, the new technical school in Ludwigsluster Straße was ceremoniously inaugurated.

Warlitz Castle

Neo-Gothic church in Picher
