SUP Tour Great Jasmund Bodden
Route
22 km
- Tour tips: Neuhof, Tetzitzer See nature reserve, Ralswiek nature stage, Lietzow Castle
Rail connection: Lietzow
For the tour start we recommend the slightly stony beach near Lietzow. The nearest parking lot is only 200m away.
Stage 1:
After 5km passing the steep shore of Lietzow heading north, the Neuhofer Kanal appears on the right side. There is the "Martinshafen" which is suitable for a short rest, but not for shopping snacks.
Stage 2:
To the west, about 7 km across the Great Jasmund Bodden are the nature reserve Tetzitzer See with the Banzelvitzer mountains. On the small stretch of beach in a southwesterly direction, the Banzelvitzer Berge campsite is located for another break stop.
Stage 3:
A highlight of this tour is the venue of the Störtebeker Festival - the natural stage Ralswiek. About 1.5 km further, you'll find the port of Ralswiek for the penultimate rest stop.
Stage 4:
The last part of the tour leads directly back to the starting point.
Water profile
The Great Jasmund Bodden is about 58.5 km² in size, on average 6 km wide, 14 km long and up to 7 m deep. It is very popular with fishermen and anglers because of its abundance of fish. It is popular as a recreational boating area, but is difficult to navigate by boat due to the many shallows and obstacles (boulders). The predominantly flat shore is only broken up by a few steep shorelines and is almost exclusively overgrown with reeds and cane beds.
