Photographs, installations, texts
From August to October 2023, writer Judith Zander and photographer Sven Gatter had the opportunity to live and work in the former home of the man who gave the project its name, in the middle of the Brandenburg Forest, as part of the Günter de Bruyn Foundation's first "Abseits" scholarship. "We want to devote ourselves entirely to the beautiful effects of nature" - this quote from Caspar David Friedrich's letter provided a fitting motto for the hikes and forays through the forest and field landscape, during which they often found themselves alone and not always entirely sure of the way, like "The Chausseur in the Forest". Sven Gatter's photographs trace the light as a contested commodity in the forest, while Judith Zander's short prose texts are interested in the ambivalence and ambiguity of the twilight. At the opening, Judith Zander will read from her texts for this exhibition at 6.30 pm. Exhibition duration until June 2, 2024, Tue-Fri 2-6 pm, admission free
