Plogging beach run with the Usedom running caps
The Usedomer Laufmützen and the tourist information office are once again inviting you to the plogging beach run in Karlshagen under the motto "NO WASTE IN THE SEA: Leave nothing but your footprints in the sand!"
The word "plogging", derived from the Swedish "plocka" meaning to pick up, is a combination of jogging and collecting garbage that originated in Sweden and has fans all over the world. Plogging offers a much more varied workout than normal jogging, in which only certain muscle groups are used, due to the regular bending down, picking up, straightening up and running on.
Participants run (approx. 8 km) & walk (approx. 5 km) happily with others between Karlshagen and Peenemünde and do good at the same time. In addition to the garbage that does not end up in the Baltic Sea but is disposed of, 100% of the voluntary entry fee goes to the Förderverein Kinder- und Jugendhospiz "Leuchtturm" e.V. in Greifswald. The start is at the concert shell.
Of course, all exercise enthusiasts, even those without plogging ambitions, are welcome to walk and run for a good cause.
After the run, a cozy get-together with coffee and cake awaits the participants
