Registration is required for this bike tour with a climb up a wind turbine.
We meet at 9:30 am at the market. If you register in advance, you can load your bike into a van or trailer. We offer this service for the outward and return journey for a total of €7/bike, because in the event of capacity bottlenecks, there is no guarantee that bikes will be taken on local trains. The actual cycle tour starts at Schwaan station. The journey to and from Schwaan - except for the above-mentioned option of bicycle transport - is to be organized on your own responsibility. We recommend the RB 17 from Schwerin at 09:43 or 10:43 with a change in Bad Kleinen to the RE 1 and arrival at 10:36 or 11:36 in Schwaan. Arrival and departure with your own car is of course also possible. After unloading the bikes in the parking lot in front of the train station in Schwaan, we start at 12:00 in a southerly direction parallel to the railroad line and then turn off onto field and forest paths to Mistorf. At Mistorf station we cross the railroad line again and continue south. From Goldewin Ausbaus we cycle along country lanes to our destination. We have wind turbines in view almost the entire time. North of Groß Schwiesow, the highlight of the tour awaits us in the truest sense of the word. We climb a wind turbine. A minimum age of 18 years, sturdy shoes (without plates for clipless pedals!), long pants, long-sleeved outerwear, gloves, helmet (e.g. bicycle helmet), good physical condition and a head for heights are required. During this somewhat longer break, we learn interesting facts about the topic of "renewable energies". We then cycle via Groß Schwiesow, Kassow, Kambs and Vorbeck back to Schwaan station. The bikes can be loaded there for transportation back to Schwerin by prior arrangement. A train connection with local trains starts at 17:20 or 18:20 in Schwaan and arrives at Schwerin main station at 18:09 or 19:09 with a change in Bad Kleinen. The loaded bikes can be collected there. Food and especially drinks should always be in your luggage. For the tour we will use forest and field paths as well as asphalt roads with little traffic. Due to the wind turbine climb, the group size is limited to a maximum of 20 people. The wind turbine climb itself is free of charge.
