"Between light and shadow" - Ancient sites and sculptures Photographs by Walter Hege from the years 1928/29
The Naumburg photographer Walter Hege (born November 12, 1893 - died October 29, 1955) traveled to Greece in 1928/29 on behalf of the American Phelps Stokes and photographed various archaeological sites. In Athens, he mainly took pictures of sculptures in the National Museum and the Acropolis Museum. Walter Hege returned from his trip with over 1000 photographs.
The special exhibition presents and explains 30 of these atmospheric photographs.
