The Weinhaus Uhle is the oldest restaurant in the city of Schwerin and was founded in 1741. Wine tastings used to take place in the prestigious Knights' Hall. Today it is used for weddings, christenings, receptions and dances. The house is now a listed building. The Weinhaus Uhle serves classic regional cuisine, which has also won several awards.

The monumental administration building is located to the northwest of the old town, directly on the Pfaffenteich lake. The building was erected when the Grand Ducal administration moved from Ludwigslust to Schwerin between 1842 and 1845.
