Cafés, Traditional Handicrafts, Museums, Guided museum excursion

The Salt Museum presents the history of salt extraction from the brine of Sülz, the spa and bathing history and shows some other trades of the city. In two special exhibition rooms we show exhibitions of a completely different kind four to five times a year. Children and adults are especially enthusiastic about riding the moor train.

In addition to the time travel through the history of Bad Sülz, we also offer our visitors homemade cake in our small café all year round. In the summer months, surrounded by the beautiful ambience of the museum courtyard, visitors enjoy this offer outdoors. Our traditional festivals also take place in the museum yard, such as Easter Market (one weekend before Easter), Salt Festival (1st weekend of July), Bratapfelfest (2nd Sunday of Advent). But we also celebrate other events here with our visitors and guests: Country Festival, Men's Day Party, Spring and Children's Festival as well as Summer and Autumn Festival. All dates can be found in our calendar "Dahlia arrangements from Bad Sülze" (can be ordered via internet). The beautiful ambience of the museum courtyard is also ideal for family celebrations. We also have interesting offers for schools and kindergartens.

For schools:

  • Salt project: the history of Sülz salt is told, the functioning of the graduation house is explained, salt is boiled and herbal salt is produced. If desired, the students can go through the museum on their own. Finally, the students take a ride on the moor train.
  • Combined project: tour of the museum, outdoor facilities, herbal salt making, jam making according to the time available, bread and rolls baking in alternating groups. Subsequent tasting

For kindergartens:

  • Washing day as in grandma's time
  • Baking pizza
  • Making herbal salt and baking bread rolls
  • Rides on the moor train
