The Thünengut Tellow takes its name from Johann Heinrich von Thünen (1783 - 1850), who lived in the small estate village Tellow from 1810 until his death and was active beyond the borders of Mecklenburg.

The museum is closed for reconstruction until 2024!

We inform here in loose sequence about the construction progress.

Thuenen, a native of Mecklenburg by choice, became known worldwide as a pioneer of agricultural and economic sciences. His "Thünen circles", named after him, describe one of the first and best-known market economy models in the world.

Today, the estate ensemble is a personnel and open-air museum. The visitor learns interesting facts about the life and work of the landowner Johann Heinrich von Thünen. In addition, there is also much to discover from the more recent history of the region, such as the old agricultural technology or the two decorated new farmhouses.
