Surf spots

The main spot is located in the middle of the town on the Wieker Bodden - protected from the open Baltic Sea. You can set up and launch on a large meadow. In front of it, there is a large shallow water area with a 200-meter wide standing area. A little insider tip: With east and west winds, you can enjoy the jet effect.

The small resort of Dranske is located in the most northeastern part of Rügen. The spot is located in the middle of the village and thus offers a good infrastructure. The spot has a good wind yield all year round and offers a large standing area. From the water you can even watch the not far away island Hiddensee with its striking lighthouse Dornbusch. Not least for all these reasons Dranske is a venue of the German Windsurf Cup. There is a sufficiently large meadow available for you to set up your equipment. Unfortunately, the entry area is quite narrow, which is why a lot of consideration is required, especially on good wind days. You should also familiarize yourself with the spot overview and the spot rules beforehand. You will find them on a big board directly at the spot. A surf hostel especially for water sports enthusiasts can be found in the village. The spot is suitable for wind directions from NE to S.

Facilities:

  • Toilets, showers, waste disposal (camping site).
  • Offers of the surf school - training kitesurf, windsurf, SUP, canoe, sailing, dragon boat
  • Parking facilities < 250 m far away, fee required

Detailed information about the spot Dranske can be found on the linked website of www.surflocal.de. There you can also find 3D panorama photos of the spot, make contact with the locals or arrange to surf together with friends.
