A gem in the immediate vicinity of Teterow is the Burgwallinsel in Lake Teterow. Until the early Middle Ages, the island was connected to the mainland by a 750-meter-long wooden bridge - an architecturally perfect structure without a single nail. Today, the former Slavic settlement can be reached by ferry or the launch "Regulus" and offers rest and relaxation to those seeking recreation. Those who want to be physically active can rent water treaders and rowing boats on the island, swim at the natural beach (with a small sunbathing area, unguarded)or explore the surroundings on the island hiking trail . Small guests can look forward to a playground . For refreshments the WENDENKRUG invites you. In the restaurant or on the lake terrace there are delicacies from the region and who would like, can bed here also its tired head. In the summer 2010 the island was explained by the UNESCO to the cultural property of mankind worth protecting . Guests arriving by car can use the parking lot Burgwallinsel and go from there to the ferry. Alternatively, the parking lot at the bathing establishment can be used. From here you can get to Burwallinsel via the NaturBad with the launch "Regulus".
The island can be reached daily from May to the end of September except Mondays (day off).
