From Buchholz, leisure captains leisurely sail across an arm of the Müritz to the Müritz. Even after a short trip, a shore leave in Rechlin is recommended for swimming and a visit to the Aviation Museum. From the eastern shore of the Müritz stretches the Müritz National Park, the kingdom of sea eagles, cranes and deer. With a quiet ride and a careful look, many animals can be admired on land and in the air. And you can even look at the fishes' heads, the water is so clear. Those who have the guts jump overboard and swim a round.
On the western shore, the small town of Röbel/Müritz lies in a sheltered bay. From the 58 m high church tower, there is a wonderful view of the "Little Sea". Now recreational captains head across the Müritz to Waren (Müritz). It is worth dropping anchor here. In the Müritzeum nature experience center, almost 50 species of fish, including the golden pike, as well as crabs, mud turtles, mussels and snails cavort in 25 tanks. The Müritz National Park can be explored on a bike tour or a hike with the ranger from here.
On the Müritz-Elde waterway, one lake joins the other. Sea eagles and seagulls accompany the crew on their journey. Shore excursions offer a successful change from everyday life on board, e.g. to the Damerower Werder on Lake Kölpin. Family tip: Visit the bisons living on the peninsula. At the fishermen's rotunda a few meters away there are guest moorings and fresh fish for the small appetite.
In the island town of Malchow, many funny creatures lurk in the monkey forest and the summer toboggan run promises additional fun. Finally, leisure time captains get land under their feet in the cozy harbor of Plau am See.
Water profile
For adventurous and recreation-seeking families, this houseboat tour is ideally suited. Recreational captains do not need a driving license for this trip. In addition, there are no locks on this tour. In case of strong winds, it is recommended to stay close to the shore. For nature conservation reasons, mooring at the bison island Damerower Werder is prohibited. However, families can visit the bison reserve on land.
