Rail connection: Neustrelitz

The poet Hans Fallada wrote: "I give them a childhood whose happiness you can read from their eyes." Fallada's children Murkel, Mücke and Achim roamed the wooded hills created in the Ice Age, the wide sanders and bathed in the clear lakes sparkling in the sun at the beginning of the last century.
The hike begins in the idyllic village of Carwitz and leads directly to the first bathing spot. On the shore path around the narrow Luzin invites on the way the goat meadow to a rest and a refreshing bath. The tour continues with a fun sea trip on the hand-operated Luzin ferry* across the Narrow Luzin. Ancient deciduous forest is reflected in the shimmering turquoise water, and woodpeckers, red kites and dwarf flycatchers can be observed in the riparian forests.
After the ascent, the nature trail Hullerbusch leads through the territory of Fridolin the cheeky badger from the children's book of the same name by Hans Fallada. The badger can also be found on the signs of the circular trail. On the steep bank slopes all around graze the small pasture lambs of the sheep farm Hullerbusch. In the small farm store of the sheep farm curious visitors can taste goat milk ice cream.
Under 100-year-old beech trees, families hike along boardwalks past the Kesselmoor to the legendary Teufelsstein (Devil's Stone). Mysterious scratch marks on the gigantic erratic boulder, which are said to come from the devil, and a book with funny entries provide lots of fun. The tour continues via Zansenblick up to Hauptmannsberg. Here, a fantastic view of the sea eagle's territory opens up. With a bit of luck, you can catch the elegant birds of prey hunting for fresh fish in Lake Carwitz. The search for the small heath grasshopper and the two-colored biting shrimp provides children with further fun adventures.
Below the Hauptmannsberg lies again the village Carwitz with the Hans-Fallada-Museum.
