Minimalist and yet diverse and effective - Igor Stravinsky's "Soldier's Tale" creates an impressive concert experience with just a few means. Originally written for a small instrumental ensemble and narrator, the piece was intended for a wandering theater troupe that the composer had met in exile in Switzerland. Today, the work is also at home on the big stages. This afternoon, the suite will be performed on the stage of the magnificent theater in Putbus in a version that has been expanded to include readings of the text. The musicians round off the program with works by Zinzadze and Rota.
