Lecture
The Goldschmidts and Gimpels were two Jewish families who had lived in Mecklenburg since the beginning of the 19th century. Many members of these families came from Neubukow and Rostock. Some of them made a significant economic contribution to the regions. Pippa Goldie, who comes from England and has been conducting family research for 25 years, will give an insight into the biographies and achievements of four generations of her ancestors. For example, she will introduce the engineer and inventor Rudolf Goldschmidt (1876 Neubukow - 1950 Poole/England), her grandfather.
Bruno Gimpel (1886-1943) was Pippa Goldie's great-uncle. The painter and commercial artist was born in Rostock, lived in Dresden and spent a lot of time in Ahrenshoop. The art historian Klaus Tiedemann has been studying the artist's life and work for years and will present Bruno Gimpel's oeuvre
