Mono-opera for soprano and piano (1972) by Grigori Frid
The Diary of Anne Frank - hardly any musical theater work of the 20th century has had as great an impact as this one-hour mono-opera by the Russian-Jewish composer Grigori Frid. Premiered with a soprano in the title role and with a piano, the work focuses on the emotions of the girl Anne Frank from Amsterdam, whose diary became world-famous after her death at the hands of the Nazis.
