The castle town of Usedom in the time of Otto von Bamberg - Prof. Dr. Felix Biermann
The town of Island of Usedom, located in the south-west of the island of the same name in the Oder estuary, played a prominent role in Bishop Otto of Bamberg's missionary journey. It was here that a Diet was held on Pﬁngsten (June 10) 1128, at which the Slavic greats from the western Odra region promised Otto and Duke Wartislaw that they would accept Christianity.
