Stralsund's Organ Night in the St. Jakobi, St. Marien and St. Nikolaikirche churches
It's that time again: the 3rd Stralsund Organ Festival will once again attract many music lovers to Stralsund in September 2024. Every two years, the "organ city of Stralsund" presents its monumental instruments in close succession over the course of a week. And this year, too, there will be something for every taste at the 17 concerts and events: from early music to jazz, from children's concerts to silent films, there will be many facets of the "Queen of Instruments" to experience. The almost legendary Organ Night, which has now become an annual event, will of course not be missing: three special concerts in one evening, during which the audience moves from one church to the next and gets to hear all three great organs one after the other.
The parishes of St. Nikolai and St. Marien, the Kulturkirche St. Jakobi and the Kreisdiakonisches Werk Stralsund e.V. as well as the Hanseatic City of Stralsund invite you to a week full of music and joy during the 3rd Stralsund Organ Days!
This evening: Our organ night starts at 19.00 in St. Marienkirche. Martin Rost will play "Organ treasures of the 16th and 17th centuries".
At 8.15 p.m. it continues in the Kulturkirche St. Jakobi with Volker Jaekel and Gert Anklam "Saxophone and Organ".
Finally, "Sonnenwind - Improvisationen mit Truhenorgel, Liveelektronik und großer Orgel" with Andreas "Sotty" Böttcher, Friedbert Wissmann and Matthias Pech will be performed at 9.30 pm in St. Nikolai Church.
