Stefan Grasse

Guitarist Stefan Grasse inspires people from very different cultures on his concert tours. A well-traveled and multi-award-winning virtuoso, he explores non-European musical traditions from Latin America to Africa to India and combines them with his European roots to create his own compositions.

Trained and influenced by classical music, jazz and flamenco, Stefan Grasse developed his own, very personal style of playing, which is characterized by the harmonic symbiosis of many stylistic elements.

With the careful use of electro-acoustic effects and live samples, he embeds the natural sound of the guitar in sonorous, pulsating soundscapes.

Based on these "soundscapes", the variety of styles and magical-virtuoso sequences, Stefan Grasse invites his audience on a journey through touching and enchanting worlds of sound.

Mysticism, power and intensity of the music let hidden inner worlds, the "Inner Sound" become tangible and lead to a moving concert experience.

The guitarist Stefan Grasse studied jazz and classical guitar in Munich, Nuremberg, Salzburg and Glasgow. He has received several awards, including a Cultural Promotion Award from the City of Nuremberg in 1996, the Cultural Award of the Cultural Forum of Franconia in 2004 and the Cultural Promotion Award of the District of Central Franconia in 2018. Stefan Grasse has given over 3000 concerts in many European countries, Australia, Argentina, China, Turkey and the USA until 2021. Since 1993 Stefan Grasse has released 19 CD productions under his own name. In addition to his activities as a concert guitarist, composer and music producer, he is the artistic director of the "Nuremberg Guitar Nights".
