Exhibition

Marika Emonds and Gabriela Ender are curating a special presentation of selected works by the late artist in his hometown of Bergen auf Rügen to mark his 85th birthday. The exhibition shows a cross-section of his extraordinary life's work. It includes pictures in the genres of nature, landscape and nude. There is also a corresponding emphasis on his sensitive word poetry.

Klaus Ender first became known to a wide audience through his nudes in "Das Magazin" and other magazines. Aesthetics and natural sensuality were his maxims. His pictures are characterized by the fascination of the female body, without voyeurism and with poetic beauty. They look like a snapshot and yet are timeless.

Landscape and nature photography has always been an equally important part of his work. The photographer's great passion was the beauty in the detail, the play with sharpness/blurriness, reflections in the dew, reflections...

His poems have depth and tell of the many ways to make life more meaningful. They are often a homage to nature. The thinker devoted himself particularly to aphorism - rhetorically appealing and with philosophical meaning.

Today, Klaus Ender is one of the most important German nude photographers. He was an excellent nature photographer and a wonderful philosopher.

Every Wednesday at 1 pm, a documentary film about Klaus Ender is shown in the special exhibition.
