The aim of this training series is to impart basic knowledge in the field of maritime archaeology in theory and practice.

In the summer of 2023, the traditional ship archaeological seminar of the Gesellschaft für Schiffsarchäologie e.V. (in the Landesverband für Unterwasserarchäologie M-V) will be held for the 23rd time. The aim of this training series is to impart basic knowledge in the field of ship archaeology in theory and practice. The seminar is aimed at students and divers interested in archaeology who want to get to know shipwrecks not only as fascinating diving destinations, but also as particularly informative sources of history.

The training imparts basic knowledge in the fields of "ship archaeology and harbor facilities in the Baltic Sea region", monument law as well as the various prospecting and documentation techniques in theory and practice on six consecutive days.

In the practical part, the basics of the prospection of shipwrecks and hydraulic structures are taught. After measuring exercises on the beach, boat and beach dives are on the program. The methods will be learned on a shipwreck in the Warnemünde Bay and a historical harbor facility.
