Moments in pictures, sculptures and pen and ink sketches by Peter Hecht
Peter Hecht is a German sculptor, painter and draughtsman whose compositions have been exhibited in Germany, Cameroon and Pakistan. His compositions combine cultural and historical aspects, symbolism and the character of the animal in sculptures or paintings. Hecht is inspired by sculptures and petroglyphs from America, Asia, Europe and Africa. He prefers to work with as few technical aids as possible. The focus of his art is on the eyes and hands, which create a connection to the character.
Peter Hecht on his work: "It is always the small moments of seeing and realizing in stone and wood, or even when sketching with an ink pen. For me, these moments, which often arise intuitively, are the highest point in my work on a sculpture or a pen sketch. I can't and don't want to describe it. The only thing I can and want to say is that we should show more respect for everyone's life."
