We want to talk together about the place of the GDR in the history of democracy and dictatorship in Germany.
Since its end, the GDR has been meticulously archived, analyzed in countless books, museumized in exhibitions, discussed on podiums, restaged in films and plays, integrated into curricula - and talked about again and again at family celebrations. 35 years after the Peaceful Revolution, this multifaceted exhibition by the Bundesstiftung Aufarbeitung shows how the history of the SED dictatorship is dealt with.
A cooperative event with the Rostock Documentation and Memorial Site and the Heinrich Böll Foundation M-V as part of the exhibition "Reappraisal" in the FRIEDA 23.
