as part of the 24th Long Night of Art
Bremen artists Dina Koper & Gisela Brünker-Pérez explore the stories of their ancestors from different cultures for the first time in their caravan.
There is the North German-Slavic family line with influences from the areas of today's Poland and those from Chile with Italian and Spanish roots up to the culture of the Mestizo women. What do they have in common and what are the fundamental differences?
In a caravan from the 1970s that had been specially converted into a mobile gallery, the artists layered & exposed, drew & etched, painted & overpainted, built & tore down, filmed & cut, crocheted & embroidered, upholstered & covered.
An experimental space, narrative & open for exchange, communication & thought processes on a journey through Germany.
At the end of this journey, the wagen and its travel documentation will be exhibited at the Gerhard-Marcks-Haus in Bremen.
