A play developed by David Stöhr and ensemble on the subject of "Mental illness in families" from 8 years old
What does it mean for a child when their mother or father suffers from a mental illness?
In sensitively told stories, David Stöhr and the ensemble show children and children of mentally ill parents that they are not alone in their situation - and that everything they feel and think is okay. But they also show where the limits of children's agency lie and how good it can be for children and parents to seek help.
Many book titles such as Mamas Monster, Sonnige Traurigtage or Was ist bloß mit Mama los? show the need for help-seeking and assistance.
David Stöhr, a trained psychologist and drama director, explores together with the ensemble how to bring this topic closer to affected children and families in a playful way. Stöhr regularly develops plays in psychosocial centers. Since August 2020, his production of the world premiere of Lauf und bringen uns dein nacktes Leben by Rainer Merkel can be seen at Staatstheater Darmstadt.
